HOW TO WEAR THE AUTUMN 2015 COLOUR TRENDS

September 24, 2015

It may seem like we only just started summer, but autumn is finally here, which means it’s time to stock up on the autumn 2015 fashion trends. Luckily, there is plenty to look forward to this season- ribbed knits, faux-fur stoles, 70’s flares, sexy pantsuits and '90s-style slip dresses, to name a few. But more than everything else, the autumn/ winter 2015-2016 colour trends are the one thing that really grab our attention!

This autumn’s trends present a juxtaposition of colour from opposite sides of the spectrum emphasising poise and confidence to the wearer.  The autumn 2015 palette is rooted in multi-faceted, androgynous colours that can be worn to portray effortless sophistication across women’s women’s fashion; it is the first time we are seeing a truly universal truly unisex colour palette. From the earthy neutrals to the bolder statements, the autumn/ winter 2015-2016 colour trends are reflective of everything that embodies nature, hope, fun and fantasy.

WARM COLOUR TRENDS

Some of the best WARM colour trends include: Mustard, khaki, marsala, orange, brown, teal.

COOL COLOUR TRENDS

COOL Colour trends include: navy, grey, burgundy, powder blue, purple, amethyst and metallic silver.

When combined creatively in the right ways, the fall colours can create a chic, effortless presentation of designs and colour combinations.

Not sure where to start? Here are my top three tips for wearing colour this Autumn:

HOW TO WEAR AUTUMN 2015 COLOUR TRENDS

1. Combine warm colours with warm colours, or cool colours with cool colours.

2. Create balance by combining darker colours with lighter colours.

3. Create interest by introducing similar patterns: ie. floral patterns with floral patterns and abstract pattersn with abstract patterns.

Finally, be creative and incorprate some brighter colour into your Autumn wardrobe. If you are not sure what colours and shades work best for you, a colour consultation is a good place to start.
